THe CyClist & tHe ARtist
LouLouArt and the flat tire.
TUBE U WARE is a collection of Recycled Bicycle Jewelry that has a unique twist. The story is simple. Artsy Sister, Athletic Brother. I have my B.F.A. in 3-d metalwork and have been creating jewelry since 2003. My awesome brother is a competitive cyclist (when he's not crunching numbers). He thought to save a years worth of flat bike tubes thinking maybe I could use them in my jewelry. I got the first box of flats for Christmas 2012. After a few months of figuring out how to combine my metal/jewelry skills with recycled bicycle parts, I was set up and selling recycled bike jewelry as TUBE U WARE at local bike races. My ideas for new bike jewelry are constantly in motion. I love creating bike jewelry, recycling old parts and supporting local artists and athletes. Who knew that a box of flat tires would be fun to make, share AND wear?! I am fortunate in that I am not only able to make and sell my recycled bicycle jewelry, but donate select pieces as prizes for the women racers. I have met some really RAD people in my recycled journey and hope that I can continue to create for everyone. artist and athletes alike.

tubeUware by Amy E. Flis is made possible by Mark & Ali Flis for being intense about cycling and for fueling my creativity with a box of flat tires.
